Hochkönig Region - Peak Holiday Feelings

Eventful summer on the Hochkönig

HERBAL HIKING, E-BIKING, PLEASURE AND GREAT DEALS FOR FAMILIES
In summer, the Hochkönig region shows its most diverse side with the towns of Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach. Idyllic mountain pastures, fresh meadows, towering rocks and fabulous views of the mountains make a stay here very memorable. There are herbal hikes, E-Bike tours, cosy mountain huts with local and vegan delicacies, exciting events or climbing tours. At no other time of the year can you experience so much variety in this region at the foot of the 2,941 metre Hochkönig.

EXPLORE THE MOUNTAINS ON TWO WHEELS
Those who prefer to leave their hiking boots at home and instead step onto the pedals, will find a wide variety of well-marked trails varying in difficulty. A dense network of E-Bike charging stations in the valley and on the Alpine pastures allows pleasure cyclists especially a relaxing way to see the impressive summits from up on high.

OUR HIGHLIGHT - the ii Tour: 113km and over 5,000m altitude lead past lush meadows and rustic mountain huts.

ON THE TRAIL OF HERBS
The gentle greenery and colourful meadows are home to many treasures. Even if they are right at the side of the road, they are easily overlooked. Thus, visitors can expect during the spring and summer a diverse program all about these healthy delights. On a guided herb hike to one of 13 herbal pastures, with subsequent workshop, guests can dive into the world of Alpine natural treasures and the processing of these into ointments, teas, or spreads.

A TOP CULINARY TREND
Anyone who connects mountain holidays only with Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn and other hearty meats and pastries, has never been to the Hochkönig region. Here, alongside the traditional mountain hut dishes there are also many vegetarian and vegan versions on offer. For example, delicacies such as Sesame Falafel with oriental hummus and salad, or even lentil stew with roasted onion and Alpine bread delight even true bacon and sausage lovers.
