The Mattsee Lake, Grabensee Lake and Obertrumer Lake form the heart of Salzburg’s Lake District together with the Wallersee Lake 20km north of the Mozart City of Salzburg. Four romantic lakes, embedded in a hilly landscape between manicured meadows and dense forests. 

Pleasure cyclists and lake hikers

Pleasure and sporty cyclists enjoy the well-developed cycle paths across a total of 600 km which take you over hills with wonderful views, through brightly lit forests and along unspoilt shorelines. Enjoy the tranquility on one of the swinging loungers and unwind – with views of lakes and the Alps included!

• The Trumer Lakes circuit, the Wallerseetour and the Mozart or Baroque Cycle Paths all take you to interesting places.
• The Ice Age trail, Weitwörther Au or the Haunsberg trail invite you on beautiful lake hikes on our well-maintained hiking, pilgrimage and exciting themed trails.
• Adventures are ready and waiting at the mystical Teufelsgraben (Devil’s Grave) and Buchberg which was known by the Celts as a place of energy.

Excursions

In addition to the nature experience and wonderful beach areas, there are many attractive excursion destinations in the immediate vicinity - these include Gut Aiderbichl, the Trumer Bierwelt, the Lake District Boat Rides, fahr(tr)aum - the Ferdinand Porsche Adventure World. The Fantasiana - Straßwalchen Adventure Park with its unique roller coaster and water slide guarantees adventure and fun for the whole family.

Lake District Card and Guest Mobility Ticket

At many sights and leisure facilities, admission is reduced or even free with the Seenland Card (issued by inclusive landlords). With the Mobility Ticket, travel on public transport is free. Take the opportunity and visit the nearby city of Salzburg without searching for a parking space.

In summer 2026, interactive ball track stations will be set up in eight locations: whether pinball, ball mazes, balancing boards, or a race on two tracks, young and old alike can watch, marvel, and demonstrate their skills.
Furthermore, leisure activities such as soccer golf, mini golf, or a visit to the ball mill round off the family vacation.
